Living Transformations is a professionally directed treatment program that focuses on psychological issues associated with non-compliance with medically recommended lifestyle changes. Changes in diet, exercise, and personal habits such as alcohol and tobacco use, are often necessary when addressing the health challenges related to obesity, diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. We see many individuals fail to make effective change despite their recognition that such changes are necessary, and knowledge of what changes are needed. Clinical health psychology facilitates the cognitive, emotional and behavioral changes necessary to sustain a healthy, satisfying, lifestyle and gain compliance with medical recommendations. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over thirty years of experience in behavioral health. My work focuses on helping individuals make important lifestyle changes to support recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, and medical challenges (obesity, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, etc.). Often this work involves helping individuals recognize the intricate relationship between their physical and mental health, and their lifestyle choices.The Living Transformations Program is evidenced based and outcome focused. Services include evaluation, consultation, educational programs, individual counseling, group counseling and continuing support. Ariza Resource Center is enrolled with numerous insurance panels. We invite referrals of patients who are facing significant health challenge such as obesity, diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. These patients have been advised to make lifestyle changes that involve medications, diet, exercise and other lifestyle issues (alcohol and tobacco use for example) but have failed to do so. Lookout Guardians, LLC is a neighborhood search network for lost pets. Over 4 million pets are lost each year. Only 2% of lost cats ever get home and only 16% of lost dogs ever get home. Lookout Guardians is designed to improve the odds that your pet gets home.There are three parts. The Lookout Guardians website which serves as the communication hub for a pet search, providing a webpage with photos of the pet, downloadable posters and a search blog dedicated to the lost pet. The second part involves Lookouts who are pet owners and pet friendly folks who are willing to be on the lookout for a lost pet as they go about their daily business. They get an email with a link to the lost pet's page if a pet is lost in the area. The third part involves pet guardians (owners) enrolling their pet in the Lifetime Membership Plan for a small, one time fee. The owner completes the pet description and uploads photos of the pet. If the pet becomes lost, they file a lost pet report at Lookout Guardians and all the Lookouts in the area are alerted.Our goal is to get lost pets home safe and sound. We combine science (forensics and animal behavior), technology (internet and social media) and human compassion to get the job done.

I am the Clinical Director of Ariza Resource Center. We provide in-depth psychological testing for police and fire fighter applicants. We also run an alcohol abuse treatment program specialized for non-dependent social and party drinkers.

Took a leadership role in developing and refining the intervention and treatment services for the DUI alcohol and drug treatment program.Provided direct clinical services for people with varying degress of alcohol and drug related problems. With respect to drugs, the majority of cases pertained to marijuana problems.Developed a comprehensive follow-up program to evaluate the impact of our program on drinking and driving. Developed predictive models to anticipate which clients would respond to current programs and identify treatment issues that need to be addressed for those who do not respond. Reduced DUI recidivism from the state average of 18% per year to 4% per year through iteratve integration of research results.

From 1981 to 1989 I managed a contract our company had with St. Francis Hospital providing neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation services for individual suffering from brain trauma, stroke and other neurological conditions. I also worked with ventilator dependent clients, providing a combination of hypnotic and relaxation proceedures to those who experienced panic attacks while being weaned from the ventalator.I started working on my doctorate in January of 1989. On a part-time basis, I provided a variety of psychological testing services and provided statistical and research services to my classmantes and one of the local psychologists who was research oriented.
