You know those types of people that always seem overly happy all the time…… yeah, I’M THAT PERSON!I am convinced that my lack of being able to tone down my positive attitude is what landed me in my current HR and Communications Manager role.As an HR and Communications Manager, I conquer many tasks. I would love to list them all, but there are not enough allowed characters for that here.I am employed by a wonderful non-profit organization located in Waukesha, WI, called Family Service.Family Service is an independent, non-profit counseling center that provides state-of-the-art psychotherapy, education, and advocacy services to anyone needing help at any age or stage of life.My roles with Family Service have constantly evolved with the agency’s needs. As the HR and Communications Manager, I am responsible for representing Family Service both internally and externally in a friendly and professional manner. I oversee HR for the agency, supporting and representing all staff. Additionally, I coordinate meetings with our Board of Directors, staff, and various committees. I also manage agency branding and marketing, including the creation of agency materials and the management of social media accounts.There is almost no task or responsibility that I would not take on or try at Family Service. I enjoy the fast pace; every day is different from the last, whether working independently and/or as a team.With each day so different from the last, chances are, you cannot have the same bad day twice in a row.I have always thrived in my career when working with the public. From my years in high school cashiering at a gas station, 20 years as a Cosmetologist, an Office Manager at a construction company, a school Administrative Assistant, and my current role, I try my best to make sure everyone’s interactions with me exceed their expectations.Outside of Family Service, I volunteer on a Parent Advisory Committee at my children’s school district. My oldest daughter plays volleyball, and my youngest daughter is in karate.
