In 2005 I founded Sailor Design as a way to share my skills in graphic design, assert creative independence and enjoy greater freedom to work with clients from all over the world. From international law firms to NGOS, art magazines and artisanal liquors, my work shows both range and depth. With ample experience designing for print and web, I'm able to eliminate middlemen resulting in a streamlined workflow and a more cohesive final product.

Taking advantage of the growing trend in private dining and capitalizing on a shared passion for serving memorable food in a unique setting, I co-founded Adentro Dinner Club with chef Gabriel Aguallo. After I spearheaded an underground approach to marketing, we quickly rose to #2 on TripAdvisor out of over 3,500 restaurants, garnering attention from NPR, Forbes Travel Guide and the New York Post.

Position in charge of supporting the successful execution of the largest natural products exposition in the U.S. Primary duties included producing the new products guide, serving as a liaison between the exhibitors and our sales representatives, creating a pocket guide to empower all employees to anticipate and quickly resolve problems on-site at the expo and training new employees to proofread and confirm sales orders.

Working within a small department I learned time management in the face of severe and unpredictable deadlines by relying on tight teamwork and creative problem solving. In addition to adapting detailed information and original artwork to layouts across a variety of media, this position required great attention to detail to satisfy the demands of our international corporate clients.

Here I learned firsthand the critical value of tailoring every design to the appropriate medium to prevent an inferior end product and unnecessary costs. Good design, in its purest form, should simplify and enhance, from producer to end user.

I was the leading creative force ensuring a consistent and recognizable visual identity- producing all designs for posters and banners, apparel, and quarterly program guides. I spearheaded an extensive city-wide survey to better respond to our listeners' needs, utilizing data to focus our marketing efforts. I also served on the first website creation committee, hosted a music show for 4 years and was eventually awarded an internship with the Chancellor of UCSC to act as Diversity Outreach Coordinator.
