About Kelly Devine

Kelly DeVine, Artistic Director of the Global Peace Film Festival since 2006, envisioned a rethinking of the traditional festival model from a passive event into one fully realizing the power of film to inspire and motivate. Working from the premise that peace is process for dealing with conflict and attaining justice rather than an unrealistic end, she pairs films with local, national and international groups, creating a community-centered hub that educates, inspires and provides the resources to empower citizens to become change agents in their own lives. Since 2023, volunteer board member of the Greater Port Jefferson/Northern Brookhaven Arts Council and lead programmer for the Port Jefferson Documentary Series and developing independent film programming for the council.In addition, she has consulted in various capacities for impact projects for noted, award-winning documentaries such as Bully, How To Survive A Plague, Revolutionary Optimists and others. She is a long-time film acquisitions and programming professional, most recently as a Consultant to Cinetic Rights Management/FilmBuff in New York and the Tribeca Film Institute (TFI). She was a key member of the Acquisitions team at IFCTV for nearly 8 years where she covered the independent feature film and short film market, negotiating hundreds of film acquisitions. She also consults with filmmakers regarding story development and festival and distribution strategy. Global Peace Film Festival

The Global Peace Film Festival, established in 2003, uses the power of the motion picture to further the cause of peace on earth. In addition to an annual festival in Orlando, Florida, which has grown fifteen-fold since its debut, the GPFF has created educational programs for colleges and high schools; provided fiscal sponsorship for select projects; and incubated impact and outreach campaigns for documentary filmmakers. Academic partnerships in Florida include the University of Central Florida, Full Sail University, Rollins College, Valencia College and the Orange County Public School system. Collaborative partners include local and international groups such as Amnesty International, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Interfaith Council of Central Florida, the Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center and many more. GPFF has worked with distributors including HBO, First Run Features, Film Movement, Ruth Films (Israel), Heymann Brothers Films (Israel) and many more. Impact and outreach campaigns have included hosting a John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Grant for the Map Your World platform developed through the film, The Revolutionary Optimists, and supporting the bridge funding for the solar power business in north Jordan for the subject of the film, Rafea: Solar Mama.-Artistic Director and Program Development for the festival held each September in Orlando, Florida, USA and the New York events.

As a former member of the acquisitions team for the Independent Film Channel (IFC), she brought films to IFC from filmmakers such as Craig Brewer, Jay Rosenblatt, Nicole Kassel and Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden. She negotiated the copyright purchase for Lou Pepe and Keith Fulton’s critically acclaimed documentary Lost in LaMancha at the rough-cut stage, along with the copyright purchase of the acclaimed documentary Brother’s Keeper, among others. She scouted Go Tigers! for IFC Films and licensed No Maps for these Territories chosen by Netflix as featured titles to showcase their commitment to being the source for quality documentaries. Instrumental in negotiating deals with ThinkFilm, First Run Features and other noted distributors of documentaries such as Born into Brothels and The Trials of Henry Kissenger.
