Kelly is the VP of Education at the University of Health and Performance, an organization that trains coaches holistically in health, fitness, and human performance. She previously served as the Director of Whole Health Education for the VHA Office of Patient Centered Care and Cultural Transformation, developing and managing Whole Health education programs and trainings for VA employees nationwide. During her tenure, over 100,000 leaders, clinicians, staff, and Veteran peer coaches completed face-to-face, virtual, and online courses in support of the transformation from a disease-based healthcare model to one that prioritizes what matters most to the Veteran and best practices in integrative health. She is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (Duke Integrative Medicine, 2010) and a yoga instructor (RYT-500), with over 1,000 hours of yoga teacher training. Kelly has served in the US Army for over 25 years: with troops at Ft. Hood and Schofield Barracks, for Generals George Casey and David Petraeus as the Operations Officer for the Commanding General, Multi-National Force-Iraq, and then as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff of the Army at the Pentagon, where she assisted with a book on the Iraq War ("Strategic Reflections,"​ G. Casey, NDU Press, 2012). She deployed twice to Iraq, serving in Tikrit in the first year of the war and Baghdad during the Surge. She is currently a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves with duty at Training and Doctrine Command, Ft. Eustis, VA. Her primary focus is supporting Army Holistic Health and Fitness with the expansion of yoga and mindfulness enterprise-wide, and integrating health and wellness coaching into DOD. Kelly graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2002 with a B.S. in Political Science, Latin American Studies, and Environmental Engineering. She competed on the USMA marathon and crew teams and was a member of Phi Sigma Alpha and Phi Sigma Iota honor societies. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management. Her select military awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Air Assault Badge. Kelly has been selected as a “Next Generation National Security Leader” by the Center for a New American Security and was named a “Top 40 Under 40” Military Officer. She lives with her young daughters in Bentonville, AR.
