I joined PPM to sell and to manage the sales and marketing group and to help grow the company from a being a contractor selling small commercial solar projects to being a developer, owner and operator of large commercial and industrial solar projects implemented through Power Purchase Agreements (PPA’s). In the first 6 months of this effort, under my management, we secured a short listed position for a17.5 MW project with a major investor owned utility in California.

I was the company's Founder/President. In 1992, I co-invented the first H.I.D. retrofit Bi-Level lighting product, which was awarded a patent in 1998, paving the way for future innovations in the H.I.D. lighting industry. Controlled Lighting Corp. designed, manufactured and installed advanced Bi-level and Multi-level H.I.D. lighting controls and fixtures. In 2006, the company’s product line was acquired by an international electronics manufacturer with subsidiaries in the lighting and lighting control industries and the company was closed. My 20+ year career in the energy conservation industry includes implementing lighting control projects nationally for customers such as:Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Big Lots, Cardinal Health, CVS Pharmacy, Dollar General, Farmer Jacks, Gallo Winery, IBM, Sony, Miller Brewing, Pepsi-Cola, Sherwin Williams, United States Cold Storage, P&O Cold Logistics, United States Postal Service, United States Navy, and many others.

I Co-founded the company in 1988 and by 1994 it had grown to over 50 employs and I negotiated the sale to a publicly traded company. I remained as the President until 2001. I was responsible for overseeing of sales, product development and manufacturing operations. Overall management of all installation projects including negotiations with any subcontractors. Managed all sales activities. Successfully negotiated contracts with government agencies, including San Jose Unified School District, Palo Alto School District, Berkley School District, San Lorenzo School District, Whisman School District, Gilroy School District, Gavlin College and numerous school districts in Southern California. Introduced new lighting control technology and successfully negotiated contracts with the United States Postal Service, United States Navy, Wal-Mart Stores distribution centers, Target Stores distribution centers, Southern California Edison and many others. Grew the business by establishing regional sales offices. Through these branch offices, successfully negotiated contracts with major distribution companies throughout the United States.

I started as a Regional Sales Manager, with responsibilities for growing sales in eleven midwestern states. Promoted to National Sales Manager after 3 years of consistently out producing all other regions of the country. Responsibilities included managing sales of the company’s energy management systems through a network of system integrators and national accounts.
