Campaign development & roll out.Tom's Trust is the UK's only charity dedicated to providing mental health support to children and young people, with brain and central nervous system tumours, and their families. Approximately 500 children aged 0-19 are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year. Many children experience serious mental health issues as a result of their tumour, and 62% of children who survive will then live with life-long disabilities. Our Tom’s Trust clinical psychologists support hundreds of children, and thousands of families, within hospitals in the East, North-East, North-West, and Thames Valley helping from diagnosis, through their treatment and as they return to life at home. They are also there to support families when a child sadly dies from their brain tumour. Our mission is to reach children with brain tumours and their families in every area of the UK that needs us. In January 2024 we launched the UK’s first Sibling Toolkit, designed to help key adults, such as teachers, TA’s. sports coaches, help the siblings of children with cancer. It’s a (free to download) 40-page manual which has gone through extensive feedback, written by leading clinical psychologists and funded by Tom’s Trust.
