Providing care to neonates and their families through assessment; continuation or alteration of treatment and evaluation of care.Duties and skills:- Providing direct patient care for new-born babies. - Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) assessed and competent.- Attended deliveries of high risk infants- Analysing and evaluating the effectiveness of care to babies and mothers. - Competent in ventilation, CPAP, opti-flow, O2 therapy- Competent in arterial, venous and capillary blood sampling and analysis- Interpreting clinical results and initiating investigations. - Providing clinical support and training to staff and students. - Regularly undertaking co-ordination of unit. - Neonatal palliative care link nurse- Creating a welcoming, caring and safe environment for neonates and their families
