I have been a Respiratory Therapist for 40 years. Of those 40 years, I have worked at 3 facilities, and have been here at my current job for 29 years. I have served in the position as interim manager on and off for 18 years, and as of 6 years, I am now the "supervisor" of our Respiratory Therapy department of 20 employees. I handle all entities of the manager position. From hiring, financial, day to day running of the department, I oversee purchasing and approval, scheduling of bronchoscopies and our staff involvement. On call 24/7. I have a good working relationship with providers as well as with other department managers, feeling that is the key to the best care and outcomes for our patients, communication and excellent staff. I love patients and caring for them as well, I do fill in for patient care when needed, whether it is during the day for transports or running to ICU or ED. Or a nightshift that needs covered due to a sick call. I have a good relationship with my staff as well as they feel they can rely on me. I have an open door policy, My best skill is communication and customer service.
