As a Marketing Manager for Retail First, my role is to identify motivators of my local, target audience to drive foot traffic into our shopping centres, and encourage repeat business by presenting an enjoyable shopping experience and in-turn providing advice to Retailers on retail initiatives. My role covers a wide range of marketing tasks, including writing, editing and proofing direct mail collateral and signage, media and public relation management, building relationships with stakeholders, event, sale and in-Centre activities organization as well as recognising opportunities to promote the Centre through various medias and community initiatives. All activities and events are coordinated from an overall annual strategic plan and budget, and adjusted where necessary based on cashflow, local opportunities and demographic opportunities. Working within the PR & Media team, our primary function was to capture our target audience of both employers and employees with refreshed ideas that promoted our products and services. As the Communications Assistant, I provided support to the team, and my key functions included:• varying design jobs for internal and external clients, including creating or updating documents, event flyers, training brochures, and booklets as requested• assisting with the maintenance of the website and staff intranet, producing and distributing e-newsletters targeting recipients based on geographical and industry criteria and maintaining the member database• event administration, which included assisting customers with inquiries, registrations and payment, and assisting at many of our corporate events on an ad hoc basis• preparing and distributing internal newsletters on key items to staff.Using my creative, organisational and technical skills, these functions were performed in an efficient and effective manner within given time frames for various stakeholders.
