Research focused upon the development of an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) based sensor for employment as a screening tool for novel psychoactive substances (NPS) within complex matrices. Target species were detected within a variety of complex matrices including herbal material, commercial drink samples and biological fluids. Increased ECL specify was coined through the development of pH controlled ECL alongside the utilisation of multiple metal luminophores, affording different emission mechanisms to exploit.
Visiting Researcher
Visiting researcher to Deakin University for a total of 4 months between two separate research visits. Funded by the RSC mobility grant, to gain experience in the use of iridium and osmium based luminophores toward development of multi-coloured ECL sensors for NPS detection.
