The theme of this particular forum is the reduction of CO2 emissions in our inland transport throughout the world. Inland Transport accounts for 70% of transport related emissions. My role in the build-up to the event has been full of different tasks including: - social media (graphic design and video editing)- Teamwork- Research - Editorial - Administrative - Political ExposureI was primarily hired to run the campaign for social media. I have utilized many technical skills to this end. The programs I have been using are: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Aftereffects and Adobe Illustrator. Over the course of creating the content I have learnt a great deal about operating within a team structure. The nature of this project has been one that encourages a wide range of input. Consequentially, I have worked one and one with different committee members to tailor the right message. I have worked on a research task that will be provided as a informational document at the conference in February. After four years of two research heavy degrees, I am very at home with this project. Editing UN documents has taught me alot. The UN has its own linguistic rules, and it has been interesting learning the ins and outs of this. Finally, I have helped out with some administrative tasks. I have double checked our contact lists in the build-up to the event, organized documents and kept track of VIPs. Aside from the work itself, being in the United Nations offers a unique learning experience. I have sat in on forums around a vast number of topics: from a conference on People of African decent to a report on the situation in the Congo. Show less -
