I am the co-founder and creative force behind Dawson Denim, a celebrated British-made brand launched on 11th September 2012. Our products are meticulously crafted in our own specialist workshop in Brighton, East Sussex, utilising traditional selvedge denim to create workwear inspired by historical garments, reimagined for contemporary lifestyles.My expertise spans the entire product lifecycle—from concept and design through to manufacturing and market launch. I have a robust skill set in denim manufacturing, casual woven fabrics, advanced laundry techniques, and fabric sourcing and development. My comprehensive knowledge extends beyond design and production, encompassing strategic management roles that include marketing, branding, merchandising, and buying. I am also fully proficient in pattern cutting and hands-on manufacturing, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.In addition to running Dawson Denim, I actively contribute to the fashion community as a guest lecturer and consultant. I design and deliver in-depth modules covering various facets of the industry, from creative development and technical processes to business strategy and marketing.
