Here’s how it works:You’re placed with other GEMS nurses so you have a strong support system.The year long residency program begins with a 14-week program, two weeks in the classroom, then continues with twelve weeks of orientation. You follow with your cohort for a year and participate in quality improvement projects, participate in nursing grand rounds, and explore different areas of professional development. - You’ll be assigned to a highly experienced mentor, your primary preceptor, who will help coordinate your orientation and communicate with you frequently.- Each week, you’ll join a lunch-and-learn session with a GEMS coordinator who will select a topic.
