I have been a part of an incredible team for almost a decade now with the El Paso County Sheriffs Office communications center. In 2023 I was given the position of Communications Training Coordinator, which has allowed me to expand my skill set within a Human Resources type role; and to excel and exceed standards of training coordination, curriculum development, and spearheading our training program to be like no other program out there. As a dedicated Training Coordinator, I have successfully managed a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at enhancing employee skills and organizational efficiency. My key duties include:Curriculum Development:Designed and developed comprehensive training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of various departments.Collaborated with subject matter experts to create engaging and interactive training materials.Implemented innovative instructional strategies to improve learning outcomes and retention rates.Onboarding Process Management:Streamlined the onboarding process by creating detailed onboarding forms and checklists.Ensured all new hires received a thorough introduction to company policies, culture, and job-specific tasks.Coordinated with HR and department heads to ensure a smooth transition for new employees.Position Guidebook Creation:Authored a detailed position guidebook from scratch, providing clear instructions and expectations for various roles within the organization.Regularly updated guidebook to reflect changes in job responsibilities and company policies.Enhanced employee performance and satisfaction by providing accessible and easy-to-understand resources.Training Coordination:Scheduled and facilitated training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees at all levels.Monitored and evaluated the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance metrics.Utilized learning management systems (LMS) to track employee progress and maintain training records.My role as a Training Coordinator has allowed me to contribute significantly to the professional growth of our team and the overall success of EPSO’s Communications training program. I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment and continuously seek opportunities to enhance our training initiatives.I also had the opportunity to be a part of EPSO’s Tactical Dispatch Unit, which is a separate assignment that is on call for high risk, large scale incidents, for the SWAT/SRT team, and for wild land fires, as well as the Office of Emergency Management.
