Kellye Ito Hayashi de Rodriguez founded Hayashi Legal, PLLC in 2014. Her dream was to have a boutique law firm that provides individualized legal services in downtown Tampa. She is a former Assistant Attorney General for the State of Florida. While with the Office of the Attorney General, Ms. Rodriguez exclusively handled child abuse and neglect cases. She handled over 300 cases involving juvenile dependency and termination of parental rights. Before entering law school, Ms. Rodriguez earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL where she played lacrosse and graduated in less than four years. She also worked as a performer for Walt Disney World for twelve years. Ms. Rodriguez earned a Juris Doctor degree from Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, VA. She was a member of the Moot Court Board, the Alternative Dispute Resolutions Board, and the Federalist Society. While in law school, Ms. Rodriguez helped to start and build a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance clinic for low-income families with federal income tax issues. That program is still intact today. Ms. Rodriguez clerked for The Honorable S. James Foxman, of the Seventh Judicial Circuit for the State of Florida. She was also a summer intern at Smith, Hood, Loucks, Stout, Bigman, and Brock, P.A. in Daytona Beach, FL. She completed two semesters as an intern with the United States Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Virginia. Currently, Ms. Rodriguez represents children in foster care and children who are accused of crimes. She also serves as a guardian ad litem in family law cases. Ms. Rodriguez is currently active in the federal and local chapters of the Federalist Society. She is vice-president of the Tampa Oratorio Singers. Ms. Rodriguez volunteers with Wills for Heroes, preparing free estate planning documents for law enforcement officers and firefighters and their spouses. She also volunteers with Crossroad for Kids as a pro bono attorney for children in foster care.
