Kellye Hughes is a Prosecutor in the Ellis County and District Attorney's Office handling protective orders, mental health law, and child protection law.She is a former Tarrant County Assistant District Attorney who has been practicing law since 1995. Ms. Hughes has tried several hundred termination of parental rights trials and has personally consummated the adoptions of over 700 children. Ms. Hughes has participated in several jury trials. Ms. Hughes was the legal facilitator and trainer for attorneys and law students participating in Tarrant County’s National Adoption Day 2006 – 2009, 2013-2019, facilitating the adoption of over 400 children (this in in addition to the over 700 children Ms. Hughes has consummated). Ms. Hughes co-authored a “How to…” manual for adoption practice. She authored and presented at over 30 continuing education seminars on the topics of Family Law, Child Protective Services and terminations and adoptions. Ms. Hughes was appointed to the State Bar’s Child Abuse and Neglect Committee and participated as an educational director for the CPS sessions of the Advanced Family Law Courses for three terms. Fort Worth Magazine named Ms. Hughes as the Top Adoption Lawyer, 2018-2022.
