Hi! My name is Kelly (she/her), a Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University. I am a recent MA degree recipient in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department at Wesleyan University, where I also earned BA degrees in Chemistry and Earth and Environmental Sciences.My current research focuses on Antarctic paleoclimate changes in the Scotia Sea during the Pliocene Epoch, the last time before present when atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations reached or exceeded 400 parts-per-million. This work will enhance our understanding of the Earth's climate system and aid in predicting the rate at which Antarctic ice sheets will melt in our rapidly warming climate. I aspire to use my chemistry background to continue a career in research examining environmental phenomena utilizing chemical techniques.
