Director Of Affiliate Research
Current• Work with Planned Parenthood (PP) affiliate staff to improve study capacity and operations, manage research-related activities, and identify and facilitate new study opportunities with industry, academic and foundation partners. • Develop and maintain business relationships with industry sponsors and clinical research organizations (CROs). Serve as liaison between sponsors/CROs and PP affiliates during start up of a new study. Includes conducting feasibility and contract and budget negotiations centrally for multiple affiliates, as well as managing the revenue cycle.• Guide strategic decision-making for research activities including business and protocol/proposal development, staffing models, operations, federal regulations, and study budgeting, as well as training and acting as an ambassador for PP. Examples include research workforce development initiatives, Epic EHR integration with research activities, and incorporating health and race equity principles into research conducted throughout the federation.• Establish and lead the Clinical Research Coordinator Corps (CCLC), a structured learning community for frontline affiliate clinical research coordinators through web-based and in-person interventions. Lead its expansion to include social science research. Develop and implement curriculum to teach and review “best practices” in research through book clubs and other group learning opportunities. • Provide mentorship and coordination of team members. Hire and supervise team members.• Manage the Research Readiness and Expansion Program (ReREP) which is a targeted and deep engagement with PPFA and affiliate research staff to build research capacity and infrastructure within affiliate programs. Conduct on-site and remote visits. Facilitate, make funding decisions, and consult. • Interview and evaluate affiliate research programs for PP accreditation.• Revise, update, and create new federation-wide research SOPs, oversee adoption and implementation process.
