Member since the inception of the Regional Board for Tourism in March 2020, which included significant crisis comms throughout the pandemic and personally led on the development of a Tourism Recovery Plan to lobby for support and champion the tourism industry’s recovery post-pandemic.Represented the NEC Group on the Government roundtable review of the role of Destination Management Organisations in 2021 as well as presenting at several webinars and live events on the importance of the tourism industry and live events to both the UK economy and the regional economy.Significant Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games activity representing the NEC Group on the Business and Tourism Programme Working Group to direct and approve the investment spend and activity that accompanied the Games. Expert on Marketing, contributing to the strategic direction of the business, external ambassador for the Group and a mentor, coach and mediator for colleagues.Managed a strong team focused on driving revenue, optimising customer experience and increasing brand awareness to build and maintain the venues' reputations as UK market leaders.

Led on the marketing and communications strategy and team at the ICC Birmingham, the UK's first international convention centre. Successfully revitalised its brand proposition and positioning to increase its competitiveness in a crowded conference marketplace. Delivered ongoing lead generation and revenue growth activity through campaigns, bids and proposals for major events.

Led on all marketing and communications activity to launch the Vox into the marketplace. Developed and embedded the venue's brand, building an enviable reputation as a best-in-class conference and banqueting venue for events of up to 900 people. Delivered significant lead generation activity to attract the UK's top companies and agencies to host their events at the Vox.

Marketing and communications strategy, planning and delivery for The International Convention Centre (The ICC) in Birmingham including lead generation, campaigns, events and content management across all channels.

Set up Marketing Communications function including strategy, planning, recruitment and management of staff, procedures/processes and budgeting. Developed suite of collateral and promotional campaigns, successfully implemented re-brand to tight deadline, managed events, implemented new CMS and re-built Intranet.

Focusing on the Continental European Schroders business, this role was two-fold:1. Marketing Communications - managed all aspects of several high profile fund launches, promotional campaigns and events.2. Account/Relationship Manager - forged a close link between HQ-based and local market teams to improve efficiency of marketing communications and provide the support needed to achieve sales objectives.
