Art Teacher (H-Dip)
I have always had a strong interest in the creative process and creativity in others. Disciplines I taught throughout the year were: illustration, graphic design, advertising, branding, painting, ceramics, feltmaking, tshirt design, propmaking, murals, cartoons. As our animation project the transition years completed a "Alice in Wonderland" ident animation to be premiered on tv. They did extremely well and their animation was premiered in the Triskel Arts Theatre in Cork City during the year.To bring pupils closer to art, I incorporated technology as much as possible into the classroom. Smartphones/ laptops were used to record animations and make artwork. This had a positive impact on the pupils as they are a generation that are motivated by using apps. It also linked the bridge of using technology in art. This opened them up to a different portal of making art and design. As a part of the hdip we were also encouraged to develop our skills in every discipline as an artist, designer and crafts person. These disciplines ranged from installations, performance art, ceramics, batik, weaving, stitching, contemporary textiles, design technology, photoshop, film studies, film editing, wire, 3D studies, drawing
