In addition to multiple MS Office programs, I have a strong aptitude for Microsoft Excel and its data analytic capabilities – a skill that proved useful at my position the National Research Council (NRC). At the NRC, my tasks included: sending out agenda calls/reminders/taking minutes for various meetings, running and reformatting reports, editing slide decks, compiling and listing various data requests. Furthermore, as acquisition card holder for our branch, I completed office supply purchases and submitting documentation to resolve purchase order invoices. As well, my position required an active reliable security clearance, which was approved.Previous to the NRC, I worked with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) as a Facilities Coordinator. As a facilities coordinator working within a team of 5, I helped handle various requests for a client with over 200 staff learning to prioritize and multi-task at the same time. The duties for this role included: boardroom bookings and cleanings, maintaining vendor / supplier relationships to ensure prompt delivery of services, ensuring shipping / receiving mailroom followed all shipping protocol and requests, creating purchase orders (which also included invoice submission and follow-up, and monthly and year-end activities), creating an invoice tracker to provide a detailed expense spreadsheet to provide site usage and requests (my supervisor was able to use this to project continuing costs accurately which they hadn’t been able to before), and following up on any concerns and issues submitted by the client.Currently, I have a full-time term position as a Registrant Assistant with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. Reviewing licensure applications means ensuring information makes sense and aligns with the pathway we need to process them. As a highly-detailed individual, the drive for accountability and a high level of dependability and transparency enables me to handle the volume of work in a timely manner.Additionally, I self-identify and have a current diagnosis that confirms that I have a disability. This disability enables me to give back when I can to create awareness but has enabled me to learn in different ways that are adaptable and reliable. I also volunteer once a month on a board to help support their work in this awareness and education.
