I was employed as a Senior Sales Consultant offering advertising packages across Index magazine, Planning Your Wedding magazine and their associated websites.

Following the purchase of NSI I was employed to develop display, recruitment, subscription & sponsorship sales across the Red Snapper Media network which consists of 10 websites, E-Newsletters, bespoke on-line solutions and the bi-monthly digital magazine - The Police Product Insight.

Managed the recruitment sales team for the Medical portfolio which included a weekly newspaper, bi-weekly nursing title and website. Exceeded budgets on a continual basis and played a leading role in developing the job board. It is now number one in the market place for primary care recruitment.

Promoted to Group Sales and Development Manager for all Classified and Display sales staff for South London. Centres include: Cheam, Croydon, Richmond and Petts Wood. Responsible for developing and implementing a sales development plan for all sales staff and ensure training delivered matched their skill sets. Also achievement of new revenue streams across the group e.g Niche publications, sponsorships and campaigns. Due to a management restructure took a redundancy package in March.

Due to the success with the Croydon Guardian promoted to Advertisement Manager for the Croydon Guardian, Redhill/Reigate Life, Streatham Guardian, Croydon Life magazine and on line sales for 3 websites. Controlled all budgets, advertising sales achievements and recruitment of staff. Report to Group Ad Manager based at head office.

Head hunted to develop the Croydon Guardian weekly newspaper, also the Croydon Life magazine and website. Moved into new offices in Purley, recruited a new field sales team and consistently achieved/exceeded budget and secured new business.

Management of 6 field sales reps, handling key accounts, deputizing for the Group Ad Mngr. Interviewing and recruitment of staff. Following the buy out by Trinity Mirror Group I was head hunted and took a more senior position with Newsquest.

As well as responsibility for key accounts and obtaining new business the role included deputizing for the Group Ad Mngr, dealing with customer complaints, financial reporting, training and motivation of 6 staff to achieve budgets.

Employed to launch a new monthly publication The Business News, a supplement to the already successful Croydon Advertiser. I was responsible for all sales activity. Success in this role lead to the firm establishment of the title in the marketplace and resulted in a promotion with greater responsibility.

I took this position during a career break to supplement our income whilst I had my two daughters and spent time with them during their pre school years. I sold insurance policies and entered all data via the system. Trained/motivated staff. Overriding non-standard cases and handled complaints. Once my children started full time education I re started my publishing career.

Responsible for the Classified department assisting the Classified Manager in achieving sales/space for approximately 15 trade journals and consumer magazines and 20 staff. Sales forecasting, customer care for key accounts. Advertising for, interviewing and recruitment of staff. I left this role to start a family.
