Helivac Medical Services (Pty) Ltd is a medical emergency call centre that was started by my husband in 2008. I joined the business in 2009 as a Director responsible for marketing. The business slowly grew over time and we recruited a team of staff as the work load increased. My role included the full start up functions of the business and I did whatever was required to grow the business. I am required to research the market and identify opportunities for the business. In response to these opportunities, I devise and implement a marketing plan for the company’s services. Furthermore, I identify and develop new products and enhance existing products, ensuring that they are appealing to the current market requirements.It is my duty to conceptualise marketing and advertising initiatives to achieve company sales targets within the relevant consumer segments. I am responsible for coordinating the promotion of the business. This involves advertising and marketing campaign development and management.My portfolio includes the setting and management of the marketing budget. Areas of accountability include continuous market and consumer trend research and statistical data evaluation, adjusting and updating the marketing plan if, and when necessary.I support the overall growth of the business through marketing initiatives, advising the company’s key stakeholders on marketing elements, ideas, concepts, and campaigns. My portfolio includes all artwork and design management, scripting and media liaison, and distribution channel selection.

I started the business with a partner, and was responsible for the marketing role within the business. The business provided commission litigation services for commission earners who were not paid their commission for whatever reason. My portfolio included all market research and consumer trend analysis, marketing plan development and implementation, media liaison and distribution selection, and product design and development. I marketed the business to commission earners, secured their business, and built a client base. It was necessary for me to develop and manage a team of five different attorney firms to manage the transactions through from the initial stages of the legal system to eventual payment of commission earned.Additional areas of accountability included team management, customer relationship management, operational management, and full business activity management.

During this period, it was my duty to manage and grow the investment division of the business. I successfully grew the portfolio to over 200 investors between 2006 and 2008. My areas of responsibility included the management of a team of four staff members.

Tasks included the management, maintenance, and growth of the sales division of the business. I was part of a team of three other sales staff members, and our area of specialisation was offsite data storage.
