About Kelly Mazanti

As the founder of Buttnski, I am passionate about empowering women with outdoor apparel that seamlessly blends performance and style from the slopes to the street. Launched in 2023 and proudly based in the Rocky Mountains, Buttnski supports active women in their year-round pursuit of adventure, ensuring they never have to compromise between functionality and fashion. This brand was inspired by a pair of fleece shorts my mom has worn for over 30 years to keep her warm on cold chairlifts while skiing. I set out to enhance the fit and performance, creating a brand that encourages women to get out there and enjoy the outdoors—comfortably and confidently. I was honored to be selected as a finalist for the 2023 Title Nine Pitch Fest Outdoor Edition and continue to build meaningful relationships within their community of female founders and mentors.Before starting Buttnski, I spent over a decade working with leading global brands including Starbucks, Nordstrom, Red Bull, and Staples. My experience spans B2B & B2C sales, strategic brand development, marketing, and eCommerce. These roles provided the foundation to build and scale a sustainable consumer brand that meets the evolving needs of multi-dimensional female outdoor enthusiasts.I am also one of the co-founders of the Rural is Rad Movement, an initiative designed to support brands and founders in the outdoor industry, beginning in rural Colorado. In addition, I was selected to serve on the Outdoor Recreation Advisory Group with the Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office (OREC), helping shape the future for the outdoor recreation economy in the state.A proud graduate of the CU Boulder Leeds School of Business, I currently partner with the CU Boulder Master of the Environment (MENV) and Outdoor Recreation Economy (ORE) programs, both of which have been instrumental in shaping my journey as an entrepreneur and outdoor advocate.I draw my inspiration from nature—whether on the trails or the slopes, skiing, biking, hiking, or backpacking. My heart lies in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and along the shores of the Salish Sea, where my love for adventure and the outdoors continues to fuel my creativity.
