Developed novel CURE course introducing students to next generation sequencing and forensic research with support from HHMI and a course on detecting bioterrorism and weapons of mass destruction. Research Fellow with the Faculty Academic Center of Excellence (FACET) at Towson and member of the TU Research Enhancement Program Inclusive Excellence Leadership Team. Member of the The Case Breakers Team solving cold cases including the Zodiac case and Co-Director of the TU Human Remains Identification Laboratory (THRIL). Author of almost 70 journal articles and invited book chapters and 7 books. Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and Past-President of the Council of Forensic Science Educators. Tri-Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Forensic Science Education. American Chemical Society Fellow and elected member of the Nominations and Elections Committee, past Consultant to the Committee on Ethics, Councilor of the Maryland Section, past Secretary and Ethics Subdivision Chair and current Member-at-Large of Division of Professional Relations, and Co-Chair of the Maryland Section Women Chemists Committee. Winner of the 2021 TU FCSM University and Professional Service Award. Selected ACS Fellow. Author of Forensic DNA Biology: A Laboratory Manual, Introduction to Forensic Chemistry, Next Generation Sequencing in Forensic Science: A Primer, and Advancements in Forensic DNA Analysis.Editor of International Ethics in Chemistry: Developing Common Values Across Cultures, Trends in Counterfeit Drugs and NGS Technology in DNA Analysis and forthcoming book Vibrational Spectroscopy in Forensic Evidence Analysis.
