Hi, I'm Kellyn Garrison, an attorney and advocate with an unwavering commitment to environmental and conservation issues. My journey began at Flagler College, where I acquired a Bachelor of Arts and explored international law and policy in Buenos Aires, Argentina learning-exchange, diving deep into Spanish, International Relations, and International Law. I then obtained a juris doctorate at Florida Coastal School of Law, which included an exchange program in London that gave me insights into Comparative US-UK Legal Systems, EU Law, and Multilateral Development Finance. In 2023, I expanded my financial acumen with a certificate in Global Sustainable Finance at the University of Oxford's Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.Professionally, I have been at the forefront of change, starting with Environmental Defense Fund where I analyzed Florida's energy portfolio and worked with municipal and state leadership to pioneer clean energy policies. My tenure at the U.S. Climate Action Network saw me directing a diverse network of local and state advocates working toward climate change solutions and social justice. As the Director of External Affairs at The Nature Conservancy in Alabama, I championed state policy through government relations and coalition building. My current position at The Nature Conservancy involves advancing conservation, climate, and social policies in the US and around the world.I have always believed in the power of public-private partnerships, a principle I've applied throughout my career, from working to establish a conservation endowment fund in Indonesia to advising governmental agencies and ministries to foster long-term sustainability in Africa and the Caribbean. My role as an attorney has also provided me the opportunity to represent clients on critical environmental, financial, and property issues, and a tenure at Oppenheimer & Company enabled me to work in global investments and support clients across Latin America.Over the years, I've been honored to be recognized by the EPA, Rotary Club International, and the Suncoast Academy of Arts Television and Science for my contributions to public service. I've also served as a Volunteer Staff for Carry the Future, a global refugee non-profit organization. I am a member of the Florida Bar Association since 2006 and current support my TNC colleagues as a Mindfulness Trainer. Connect with me to collaborate and further our shared goals in the realm of conservation and sustainable development.
