Provides feedback and informs IL education policy and advance educational equity statewide.

I facilitate learning for developmental reading and writing courses such as: READ 101, READ 108, WRIT 101, and ENG 105.

I provide individualized instruction and support to 5th-8th grade students in the areas of language arts and reading. In addition to classroom instruction, I have chartered a student newspaper, The Booth Buzz. Once a week, I instruct 6th-8th grade students on journalism ethics, techniques, and writing skills. In addition to newspaper club, I am also book club sponsor for 6th-8th grade students. In book club, students read, discuss, and enjoy a variety of diverse literature. Students also serve as literacy role models for their peers and work to increase literacy awareness throughout their homes, school, and community.

I provide small group instruction to groups of students Kindergarten-8th grade. Students focus on reading, writing, and math skills in order to achieve success at their grade level. I primarily focus on students who need assistance with beginning reading and writing skills. During instruction, I engage students in a variety of manipulatives and technology to enhance the learning experience. I also administer assessments to students in order to place them in a specific program for their educational needs.

I provided whole group, small group, and individual instruction to 20 pre-kindergarten students. As the classroom teacher, I created and administered grade level assessments aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards. Additionally, I implemented hands on learning experiences utilizing technology and developed various evaluation tools for parent review.

I provided whole group, small group, and individual instruction to 25 first graders. I analyzed classroom demographics in order to facilitate a quality classroom management plan. Daily, I collaborated with my cooperating teacher in order to create curriculum aligned with Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
