Key Responsibilities: Manage all facets of human resources policies and programs. Major areas of emphasis are organizational planning, employment forecasting, budgeting/analysis (staffing/benefits), training, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety and health, compliance, and employee services. Coordinate implementation of policies and procedures throughout clinics, operating units, and onsite vendors. Work with members of management and physician shareholders on human resource-related issues. Provide input on human resource and operational areas of involvement at monthly Board of Directors meetings and quarterly Shareholder meetings. Oversee payroll function. Additionally, this position coordinates the review and recommendations on company insurance: business liability, medical malpractice, workers' compensation and professional liability. Avert was a publicly traded pre-employment screening company acquired by ADP in 2001. It continues to operate as the pre-employment screening division of ADP. I was hired as a Marketing Communications Specialist (2.1996-12.1998) responsible for writing marketing copy, news releases, and financial publications for Avert (NASDAQ: AVRT) while enrolled in courses for an M.Ed. in Human Resources Development. I moved to the Human Resource role (1.1998) following degree completion. Main projects included facilitating re-training of entire workforce (95 employees) in preparation for move to a windows based computer operating system conversion. Used concept of Avert University to develop curriculum specific to job role and track training, complete with "graduation" recognition. Also responsible for all aspects of human resource management including design, vendor negotiations, and communication of benefit strategy and practices; compliance reporting; budgetary responsibilities; facilities and operation budget management; payroll activities. Produced Avert's Annual Report to shareholders three consecutive years, and coordinated regulatory calendar and required notices and filings as required of a publicly traded entity.
