As a physical education teacher, my goal is to inspire my students to understand the importance of moving their bodies not just for immediate physical benefits, but for long-term health, mental health, and overall social emotional well-being. Physical activity is more than just being fit or proficient in a given sport, it is integral in enhancing our mood, reducing stress and anxiety, and improving our ability to connect with others. Through my teaching, I aim to promote a holistic approach to physical education that emphasizes the joy of movement, the importance of physical literacy, and the development of life-long healthy habits. The goal is that when my students graduate they will have acquired a 'toolbox' full of ways they enjoy to move their bodies, so they can remain active in their post secondary journey.
