I first joined Smith Anderson as an associate after graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2002. I practiced in the areas of medical malpractice defense litigation and commercial litigation. In 2005, I returned to UNC School of Law to be the Director of Student Activities. In 2006, I became Assistant Dean for Student Services. In 2011, I returned to Smith Anderson as the Firm’s inaugural Director of Professional Development. In this role, I assist with the Firm’s efforts in the areas of associate mentoring, training, and professional development, as well as entry-level and lateral recruiting. I work closely with the Firm’s Recruiting, Associate Development, and Diversity Committees. In the community, I am Chair of the UNC School of Law Alumni Association Student Affairs Committee, a Board Member at the Orange County Rape Crisis Center and a member with the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties.
