As Chief Development Officer at the Health Care Foundation, I lead the development team and foster relationships with donors to secure current and future funding aimed at enhancing our hospitals and health centres through major and planned gift donations.I bring over 25 years of experience in the non-profit sector, with specialized expertise in major gift fundraising, strategic planning, and capital campaign execution. My advanced fundraising skills have facilitated the raising of millions of dollars for various charities.In my previous role as a Project Management Consultant for the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, I successfully executed the initial Polka Dot Trot event for cancer patients.For eight years, I served as the Executive Director of the VOCM Cares Foundation and was a member of the management team at Steele Communications. In 2011, I led the Steele Communications team in a 12-hour "Help for Home" radiothon, raising $1,400,000 for Hurricane Igor relief efforts for the people of Newfoundland and Labrador. During my tenure at VOCM Cares, I presented over $6,000,000 to local charities in the region.Additionally, I have 12 years of experience managing operational activities, including human resources, finance, budgeting, project management, and team leadership.While with the Newfoundland and Labrador Division of the Canadian Cancer Society, I oversaw the $7 million reconstruction initiative to create Daffodil Place.I have supplemented my post-secondary education with a Master Certificate in Project Management and am a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Program, where I received the highest award for achievement.I am passionate about giving back to my community and have done so as a Board Member with the Children's Wish Foundation and Crime Stoppers NL, a Judge for Miss Achievement NL, and a past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter.
