Current• Directs the activities of PCEMS, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards• Functions as a subject matter expert in emergency medical services including personnel, clinical, administrative, revenue cycle, education, risk assessment and ethics.• Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing, delegating and assigning work; and conducting performance evaluations.• Directs and manages the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, policies and priorities. • Oversees and encourages continuous administrative and clinical staff professional development• Establishes appropriate service and staffing levels; monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures• Creates, reviews and executes mutual aid agreements between PCEMS and other EMS response agencies• Reviews all significant reports, plans, and documents drafted by subordinate administrative staff.• Assesses and monitors workload, administrative and support systems. • Leads the development and administration of the department budget; approves the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; approves expenditures; and implements budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary• Responds to and resolves difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints• Serves on various boards, commissions and committees, as required• Works seamlessly with both career and volunteer EMS first responder personnel; and exercises leadership initiative to incorporate the PCEMS vision and goals for quality patient care in Putnam County• Functions as incident command or as part of unified command structure at scenes involving multiple patients or multiple agency complex incidents
