I have the honour and pleasure of being both the ops manager for the dynamite Marketing and Communications team and the internal communications officer, designing and implementing, along with our expert communications team, a communications strategy for our 800+ employees. Wildsight works to protect biodiversity and encourage sustainable communities in Canada’s Columbia and southern Rocky Mountains.Communications/Operations DirectorAs a member of the Senior Management team I was responsible for the following:Communications:Internal and external communications include but are not limited to internal, interbranch (Wildsight has five branches) and organizational communication strategies as well as external media such as member updates, e-blasts, annual reports, brochures, press releases, web presence, appeals to members and supporters, grant writing and social media.Strategic Planning:Facilitated, wrote and began implementation of Wildsight’s 2011 – 2021 Strategic Vision Statements (http://www.wildsight.ca/strategic-vision-statements). I am presently overseeing the integration of all of our media to fit the Strategic Vision Statements (including our annual report, workplans, operations plan and website).Board Development:Board recruitment and retention plans as well as implementation of the plan, and providing resources to branch board Chairs and board members.I work with the board on policy review as well as CRA compliance.Membership Development:Redesign of membership acquisition strategies and in house process improvement to ensure database and administrative efficiency. This included project management of an overhaul of our CiviCRM database.Human ResourcesDesign and implemented an annual evaluation process for Wildsight.Responsible for recruitment, discipline and termination/exit interviews.Staff Oversight:I oversee several contractors and employees of Wildsight and have experience in disciplinary actions as well as motivational tactics to encourage people to give their best to the organization. I work with the other three members of the senior management team to ensure our charity is running smoothly and legally on a lean budget.
