Profile bio

About Kelly Symons

My career path is a bit unconventional in that it did not follow a linear plan. Rather, mine is a story of leveraged opportunities, resources, and partnerships. I went from a money market trader on Wall Street, to an attorney for New York City, to a senior executive at a Fortune 500 financial services multinational. Along the way, I developed a spirit of service and compassion for underserved individuals as a nonprofit board of directors member and mentor for rising female executives in a global CEO/board organization. My experience spans senior strategy and team leadership roles with Mastercard. Throughout my career, I launched new business functions, transformed, and modernized data infrastructure, policies, and standards, and built and led agile, motivated teams. Highlights include:🔹 Designed and launched the Data Management and Data Governance functions at Mastercard. 🔹 Developed the strategic framework of Mastercard’s franchise model to enable new digital partnerships.🔹 Won a CEO award for Mastercard’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) implementation.I am known as someone who can take very little and turn it into a viable business with few resources and no predetermined definition of success. I refined my ability to attract and retain talent, honed a laser-focused assessment of the facts, and created sound priorities and roadmaps. Above all, I understand the importance of building and maintaining a healthy network and strong partnerships. As a people leader, I am best known for developing my team and mentees to maximize their potential and enhance their job satisfaction. I hold myself accountable for the successful delivery of my team’s initiatives, and I act with a sense of urgency to deliver a quality product on time and under budget. I believe in inclusive solutioning. To this end, I understand that I do not have all the answers, so I routinely seek input from and listen to the very smart people on my team.
