Dr. Turner is a researcher, lecturer, and consultant in the field of Integrative Oncology. Her specialized research focus is the Radical Remission of cancer, which is a remission that occurs either in the absence of Western Medicine, or after Western Medicine has failed to achieve remission. While Dr. Turner's research focuses on anomalies and why they occur, in her consulting work with cancer patients she is a strong proponent of Western oncology treatments, and she consults on how to integrate them with complementary treatments. Her PhD research included a year-long trip around the world, for which she traveled to ten different countries to interview 50 holistic healers and 20 Radical Remission cancer survivors about their healing practices and techniques. Kelly is currently working on a book for cancer patients which summarizes her research findings. She also provides one-on-one Integrative Cancer Consultations to cancer patients who are interested in integrating complementary medicine approaches with their Western oncology treatment.
Independently conducted a 10.5-month, international, dissertation research trip interviewing 50 healers/doctors and 20 cancer survivors in the U.S., China, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand, India, England, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Brazil on the topic of the “Spontaneous Remission of Cancer.” Followed by analysis of data and dissertation write-up. Funded in part by the American Cancer Society.

Began as an Oncology Social Work Intern from 2006-2007, and was invited to stay on. Left voluntarily in 2008 to conduct international cancer research.
For masters' degree internship, provided psycho-social assessments, brief psychotherapy under supervision, and case management services to cancer patients at UCSF's Comprehensive Cancer Center. Co-led meditation and support groups. San Francisco.
