Designed and developed ligands and precursors for a variety of deposition techniques, including surface plasmon mediated chemical solution deposition (SPMCSD), photoactivated chemical vapor deposition (PACVD), and electron beam induced deposition (EBID). Synthesized precursors using air-free techniques (Schlenk line and glove box) and photochemical methods. Performed detailed analyses of these compounds using NMR, IR, UV/Vis, and TGA. Collaborated with chemical engineers, materials scientists, and physical chemists on depositions by SPMCSD, PACVD, and EBID. Interpreted data from surface science characterization methods, including SEM, EDX, XPS, and SIMS. Mentored domestic and international undergraduate researchers and design and supervise research projects. Trained new graduate students. Prepared technical documents and present talks and posters for departmental meetings and conferences. Maintained and repaired laboratory equipment (vacuum pumps, photochemical equipment, etc.).
