• Managed operations of both non-profit organizations; contribute significantly to organizational development and startup non-profit management • Authored, researched, and presented a policy proposal to Senator Bernie Sanders’ staff, outlining the case for a national high speed rail system, and proposing a new government office to federally fund and manage the program• Co-developed a new certification program for mixed-use, transit oriented development projects, including assessment criteria and ranking system, and assisted in the evaluation of the first 3 projects that submitted applications for certification• Performed operational management tasks for the Association and Institute, including tracking and managing event revenue and expenses, performing membership outreach, and writing newsletters for distribution to 40,000 subscribers• Managed planning and logistics for four, 3-day conferences – conferences are attended by public and private sector leaders/experts in transportation, urban development, planning, real estate, and sustainability. • Systematically conducted research to build the first version of a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Toolkit (now the World TOD Resource), the Urban Development practice area’s key deliverable, aggregating a database of internal and external case studies, reports, data, and best practices in TOD. Focus areas included economics, design, finance, governance, social equity, environmental sustainability, housing and real estate development, and urban planning• Worked both independently and collaboratively throughout the stages of project planning, development, and design, contributing significantly to the research and writing process with both DC and international teams • Authored and contributed to blog writing for TheCityFix

• Conducted independent research in a variety of topics in international development, with an emphasis on post-project evaluation practices and methodologies. The objective of the research was to assess the degree to which post-project evaluation is taking place in the international development industry, and whether or not sustainable outcomes were observed • Disseminated the Valuing Voices mission of improving post-project evaluation standards via collaborative blog writing, synthesizing my research findings and data analyses, and interactive dialogue with the international development community at large• The majority of this research was outcomes-oriented, with the goal of producing recommendations for actionable activities by development organizations
