Part-time project architectural historian role based in Austin, Texas and working in SWCA's South region. My work in this role focuses on Section 106 compliance, municipal historic surveys, historic documentation and photography, and historic preservation tax credits.

Continuation of previous role after Stantec acquisition of Cox|McClain.

Performed Section 106 review for projects conducted by various government agencies with expertise in TxDOT research and survey standards. Acted as primary fieldworker for large-scale municipal and transportation surveys, including a 5000+ resource City of Austin survey and CapMetro’s Blue Line project.

-Completed an amendment to the Zilker Park Historic District nomination for the National Register of Historic Places.

-Scan and archive incoming collections-Research and date historic music posters and photographs-Assist in choosing materials for upcoming exhibitions-Plan and host events including gallery openings, charity auctions, and concerts-Manage memberships and dues-Create posters and other graphics for museum events

As an intern at Ogee, LLC, I researched, wrote, and edited portions of applications for the Texas Historic Preservation Tax Credit, the Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentive Program, and the National Register of Historic Places. This process includes:-Site visits in order to photograph and map conditions on interior and exterior portions of the building or site.-Archival research of the site or town, including Sanborn Fire Insurance maps, historic newspapers, yearbooks, local histories, and other sources.-The preparation of tax credit and NRHP forms, including writing narrative histories, creating graphics and maps, organizing photographs, and copy editing.

-Organize and carry out a post-project evaluation of a 2015 architecture studio course that was a joint project involving the University of Texas, Badlands National Park, and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center.-Conduct interviews of those involved with the project.

-Customer service representative and office support for the School of Architecture's Visual Resources Collection, a resource which includes a broad range of photography and image-related services-Helped manage professional-grade lighting studio-Maintained and checked out equipment including DSLR and film cameras, tripods, lights, backdrops, and other camera accessories-Served as a staff photographer for UTSOA events. Gained proficient working knowledge of manual DSLR photography, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Camera Raw-Conducted research and organized a special project regarding image perception in student portfolios-Prepared content for student workshops, including graphics, handouts, and presentations-Frequently updated the Visual Resource Collection blog, Deep Focus-Selected, researched, and created metadata for 35 mm slides to be scanned into the VRC's online collection

-Shadowed conservation architects, engineers, contractors, and historians both on-site and in the office. -Produced basic CAD drawings of historic buildings-Assisted ACP staff while they conducted preliminary and ongoing surveys of sites-Attended a one-day workshop on lime mortar use at Stoneware Studios in County Cork, Irelan

-Conducted research for and helped write a set of preservation design guidelines for Badlands National Park-Created content including publications, maps, and diagrams using Adobe Creative Suite-Consolidated the work of the previous semester's design studio into a completed publication

-Implemented social media marketing campaigns across several different platforms-Increased engagement on Facebook by over fifty thousand users-Worked with an interdisciplinary team of designers and eCommerce professionals to film videos and create other social media content.

-Designed a membership drive-Worked with gallery staff to produce exhibitions, including hanging shows and event planning-Provided social media consultation across several platforms

-Assisted with editing and preparing drafts of the New York Family Research Guide and Gazetteer using resources in the New York Public Library and information provided by neighboring county historical commissions-Scanned deteriorating records and photographs and archived them in the Society's online database-Created a personal genealogy project
