About Kelsey Wolfe

Scientific research, design, and discovery is my passion! I am a current graduate student at UF Scripps Biomedical Research studying structural biology and biophysics topics. My goal is to become an effective science communicator to the public, while developing new technologies and medicines for cancer, neurogdegenerative diseases, and more! In May 2022, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and in Communication: Public Relations. I enjoy collaborating with classmates and faculty on chemistry research projects, including work with:•Structural determination of DNA with NMR spectroscopy•Small molecule ligand binding to macromolecules including DNA and RNA•Computational biology encompassing in silico binding affinities of Cirpofloxacin-Eu(III) binding to DNA mismatch using AutoDock My second undergraduate major was in Communication: Public Relations, which has strengthened my public speaking and writing skills. My experience as a general chemistry teaching assistant, laboratory assistant, and peer chemistry tutor has also strengthened my public speaking and interpersonal skills. I love supporting others in an effort to understand concepts in chemistry, allowing them to gain confidence in their knowledge. I am curious, innovative, and willing to advance my knowledge to develop breakthrough therapeutics for debilitating diseases. I aim to be a leader and an asset to any collaboration I join, as I was the President of Chemistry Club and Vice President of the Epsilon Chi Chapter of βββ National Biology Honor Society during my undergraduate experience. My ambitions lie in medicinal chemistry and structural biology. I look forward to my next step into graduate school with the opportunity to make significant contributions to the scientific community on a worldwide scale.
