I gained case management experience with foster care youth experiencing homelessness and mental health illnesses. While implementing strengths based interventions, I was able to address both agency and client needs, as well as provide advocacy for further areas of research. As a case manager intern, I was responsible for ensuring that my clients’ needs were addressed in a safe and effective manner. I was able to build rapport with clients easily, which allowed me to more effectively connect an individual with the necessary and appropriate services. Additionally, I gained youth care worker experience in the way of addressing daily needs of clients.
