We're stuck in a loop: extracting raw materials, creating new products, discarding old ones, boosting emissions, and continuously contributing to a warming planet. I've always been driven to make a difference, both personally and professionally because I want future generations to experience the same beautiful planet I grew up in. That starts by addressing the issues we face today. One pressing concern is the speed at which office furniture is discarded. Leases are shrinking, and less than 10% of office furniture is reused after its first office use. Up to 30% of a building’s embodied carbon comes from its interiors over its lifetime, contributing to the 8.5 million tons of waste entering our landfills every year.I'm currently involved in raising awareness of these issues to companies across North America by creating opportunities for Envirotech's Circular Office Program which includes partnering, environmental reporting, content creation, and innovative program development, all aimed at fostering sustainable practices in office furnishings. If you're eager to explore a new way to look at office furnishings, one that cuts carbon emissions and has a story to tell, please reach out!
