I am a registered social worker working to empower youth, schools and their families in the areas of health and sexuality. I have recently completed a Master of Social Work through Wilfrid Laurier University.I graduated from Queen's University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Global Development. I also received a minor in Indigenous studies, and a Sexual and Gender Diversity certificate. My degree largely focused on community development, Canadian Indigenous populations, and gender issues.I worked for 3 years as a Relationship and Sexual Health Educator for the Centre for Sexuality (previously called the Calgary Sexual Health Centre). I facilitated discussions around healthy bodies, relationships, and sexuality in Grade 7, 8, 9 and CALM classes in public schools around Calgary.In 2019 I took over as a facilitator for the Girls Program at the Centre for Sexuality. This is a year-long program is for girl-identified folks in grades 4-6 in schools in or around Calgary. I designed and led participants through interactive activities to explore topics like self-esteem, identity, values, puberty, healthy relationships and media literacy. I also designed and facilitated workshops with parents and teachers to provide wrap-around learning and support for participants.From 2022-23, I completed my 8-month social work practicum as a case manager at Trellis for the Homestay Family Homelessness Diversion and Prevention Program. This rewarding position involved supporting families at risk of homelessness with one-time financial investments and short-term case management to increase financial and social stability.In November 2023, I return to Centre for Sexuality to begin a role as a Training Specialist for the Relationship and Sexual Health Education (RSE) program.I am currently the Relationship & Sexual Health Educator for Centre for Sexuality.
