CurrentPlaces and receives large volumes of telephone calls for the organization, gives dialing instructions for inside and outside calls, ascertains the intent or purpose of the calling parties, refers callers to appropriate place, and performs other related activities.Activates pagers, gives voice or secure text messages and communicates overhead announcements. Pages physicians and their assistants for floors, other doctors, doctor’s offices and WTH personnel. Contacts fire department, police, funeral homes, organ donor services and works in conjunction with the Security Department. Notifies dedicated technician for emergency equipment needs after contract hours.Provides information and direction to visitors and the public, answering inquiries in accordance with administrative policies, regarding divulging of confidential information.Immediately communicates 23 Codes, alerts and drills related to life threatening situations, fire or severe weather and document accordingly.Immediately actives and communicates with on call teams for surgical and procedural areas after hours with the basic knowledge of scheduling for the GI Lab, Cath Lab, Surgery, Anesthesia, PACU, CRNA’s, and Echo Lab.Responsible for handling Notification of Deaths and disposition of bodies, including frequent communication with funeral homes and Tennessee Donor Services regarding holds and the release of the body.
