Experienced in marketing media and new to sales. Kelsey is a creative individual, with an open-minded spirt to new ideas. Growing up, I was a quiet kid but I was social and busy, always. On top of that, I was creative, curious and open-minded. As an adult, I am less quiet when it comes to the things that matter most, but many of these factors remain an integral part of who I am today. I started the B.Comm program at Memorial University of Newfoundland, I focused primarily in marketing and completed a minor in psychology; the combination seemed to work well going hand-in-hand. I always wanted to empower the people around me and I was continuously working on new ideas through extracurricular activities and volunteer work. In Term 1 of my program, I aced my entrepreneurship course, not thinking a whole lot about it. I was further exposed to the entrepreneurial realm through Enactus Memorial; where I stayed for 3 years (even on a semester abroad and through a pandemic) to work in project management and executive roles. As Covid-19 struck the globe, my career path shifted from the oil and gas industry to become an entrepreneurial analyst with CBDC - still not knowing where I wanted to be when I graduated. Since then, I have jumped into a role in the St. John's startup/tech community - with ReportMate Inc. - an injury document analysis system. As a Business Development Lead, I have discovered that the qualities and skills that have followed me all these years are able to thrive. Working in a small company allows me to help build a business from the ground up; you need to open-minded to new ideas and carry the creativity that allows you to think on your feet and pivot as quickly as ideas change. The role is diverse, it bears many learning opportunities, and I wouldn't change a thing!
