In this role, I acted as a Shelby Farms Park representative and first point of contact for guests and party planners during evening events at the FedEx Event Center. My duty was to support wedding and party planners, direct food service and other party vendors, and collaborate with security to ensure the success of each event. More of my responsibilities included: enforcing facility policies and procedures to ensure safety and cleanliness within venue spaces, producing routine reports noting any significant problems or successes regarding an event, and communicating with guests interested in renting space within the park about their event and facility needs.

In the fall of 2021, I was contracted by the Dixon Gallery & Gardens to assist with their annual Art on Fire fundraiser and support the Special Events Manager. I created a OneCause live auction website page, managed the scheduling and coordination of twenty-one food vendors, and recruited, trained, and supervised volunteers for the weekend of the fundraiser.

In my participation in the Lasallian Volunteers Program, I was placed at San Miguel High School in Tucson, Arizona. My service there focused on Student Activities and Academic Operations. I was the advisor of two student clubs: Lasallian Youth and Kino Teens. I managed the content on the Vipers' Connection Virtual Campus for students, supervised the Operation Team's student interns, and assisted with event planning.

During my second internship with the Brooks Museum, I assisted the Associate Director in grant-seeking activities, including identifying opportunities, researching foundations, preparing and submitting applications, and preparing and submitting follow-up reports and drafted a $7,500 grant application.I also assisted the Vive le Brooks Series Fundraising Manager in planning, preparing for, and carrying out the museum's largest annual fundraising series kickoff event. In addition, I provided support as needed to all members of the department in the form of research, report creation, compilation of prospect or invitee lists, event support, welcoming and assisting members, and more.

I followed up with guests interested in renting spaces within the park over email, phone calls, and in person to learn details about their event and answer questions about our facilities. In the summer of 2019, I managed the four-part Canoes + Cocktails event series.

In the summer of 2019, I was selected to participate in the highly competitive Studio Institute Arts Intern program in the inaugural semester in Memphis. The Arts Intern program places 20 students at local arts organizations in six different cities across the country to serve within the community at no cost to the organization. During my time with ArtsMemphis, I wrote 35 impact stories about grantee organizations to be used in marketing efforts and year-end reports, assisted staff with organizing and hosting an after-hours social event for professionals and interns and assisted staff with hosting and preparing materials for 3 grant panels.

In my eight months at the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis, my primary responsibility was to manage the content on WHEREtoGIVEmidsouth.org. In doing so, I acted as a resource for over 300 local non-profits when developing online profiles through the foundation’s website, providing assistance and troubleshooting issues as they occurred. This involved communicating with nonprofit leaders about their organizations’ financials, programming, management plans, and other requirements for maintaining a WHEREtoGIVE profile. In addition, I assisted staff with organizing and hosting events and information sessions open to the nonprofit community.

In the summer of 2018, I was selected to participate in the highly competitive Nonprofit Internship Community Experience (NICE) program at Christian Brothers University. The NICE program places 20 students at local nonprofits to serve within the Memphis community at no cost to the nonprofit. During my two months with the Brooks Museum, I assisted in drafting and editing two grant reports, resulting in the fostering of ongoing relationships with local grant giving organizations and foundations, researched prospects for a capital campaign and yearly budget using Foundation Directory, and assisted staff with hosting events for donors and museum members.
