My passions are the field of education and the nonprofit world. I have a passion for teaching students, but I am just as passionate about supporting other educators. That passion for supporting other educators led me to pursue a master’s degree that had an emphasis in Educational Leadership and Academic Coaching. In December 2021, I graduated with my master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently the Special Education Instructional Coordinator for Jeffco Public Schools. Prior to stepping into that role, I was a Learning Specialist at the elementary level for almost 13 years. Throughout my career, I have embraced every opportunity to grow as an educator. In 2016, I became a certified school based trainer in the Orton Gillingham approach to teach reading. Throughout the time I was a certified trainer, I had opportunities to teach and coach other educators in the Orton Gillingham approach. Outside of that, I have developed and facilitated other professional development for my colleagues. In 2022, I was thrilled to join the Education Department at Red Rocks Community College as an Adjunct Instructor. I really enjoy the opportunity to support students who are pursuing a career in education. In addition to my experience in education, I have over four years experience serving on a Board of Directors for nonprofit organizations. I currently serve on the Board for two organizations, Bootstraps and Turner Syndrome Colorado. I'm passionate about spreading awareness for the organizations I serve. I also enjoy planning fundraising events and public speaking. I’m very grateful to be involved in the nonprofit world.
