Collision Repair Shop Assistant ManagerNatick Ford And Dodge Jun 1995 - Jan 2000Turning my love of cars into a reality, I got my first experience in the automotive field while working for this company. The learning experience was extremely educating though unfortunately ownership decided to close this location in 2000. While working for the Collision Repair industry I was responsible for taking care of the following:-Examining damaged vehicles and estimating the costs to repair utilizing the latest collision repair software. Unfortunately sometimes this included having to recommend a total loss if the vehicle was deemed unsafe to repair. -I helped with managing the repair centers technicians. This included sitting with the Shop Manager while conducting interviews for possible candidates and make recommendations to ownership. -I worked directly with the insurance companies to manage claims for our customers. I was personally responsible for tracking down payments from either the insurance company or from our customers to include supplemental damage claims. -I followed up with the customers to ensure they were satisfied with repairs. -I was responsible for maintaining the shop's inventory. This included ordering all parts needed for repairs by working within the estimate and the technician's needs. Part of inventory maintenance also included the technicians' tools, the shop's paint supplies, and various hardware needed to maintain productivity.
