I am passionate about promoting growth in my surroundings. In business, I trace this to the job I held during college where I was hired as a visual manager in a retail store. At first, I was mostly interested in the creativity I would get to express through my displays, but I quickly began to thrive in driving changes that positively impacted our store’s sales goals and KPIs. While I loved that position, upon graduating with a degree in education, I accepted my first position as a teacher. There, I had a similar experience in seeing educational metrics highlight growth in my students through instruction and growth in my fellow colleagues through leadership roles I held. Most significantly, I drove the integration of technology in my districts’ classrooms to better solve barriers that I knew other teachers faced and promote even more success among our students. After 6 years in the classroom, I was ready to pursue a new chapter but wanted to do so by returning to the world of retail management. Combining a love of the outdoors and an aptitude for improving processes, I took a position at REI as an Operations Manager. During my time there, I was recognized for my effective leadership skills and modeling of good customer relationships. In addition to managing operations, I was also asked to lead the customer service department where I played a significant role in driving our main KPI, which was membership sales. I enjoyed my time in outdoor industry retail, but I wanted to use my skill set to impact a larger audience than a single store and its customer base. I loved my previous work in education integrating technology to improve classrooms, and I decided I wanted to combine that with my knack for driving business results. This led to me accepting a position at a small SAAS startup focusing on improving law firm intake practices through the integration of AI.I continually want to play a role integrating new technology into solving the barriers that companies face. I use my desire to promote growth to play an effective role in onboarding processes, sales, and maintaining client relationships.
