After serving in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission, I worked as a Staff Officer at Air Force Headquarters, where my duties included:• Policy Development: Contribute to formulating and updating policies related to avionics systems within the SLAF.• Coordination with Bases: Liaise with SLAF operational and maintenance bases to ensure the proper functioning and integration of avionics systems across all aircraft.• Maintenance Program Oversight: Monitor, standardize, and ensure the implementation of avionics maintenance programs across all SLAF units.• Avionics Equipment Procurement: Assist in the acquisition of avionics systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with SLAF operational needs and standards.• Technical Assessment: Conduct technical evaluations of avionics systems to assess performance, reliability, and effectiveness.• Upgrades and Modifications: Plan and manage the introduction of avionics upgrades and modifications in coordination with technical teams.• Training and Development: Oversee the training of SLAF avionics personnel, ensuring technical proficiency in handling modern avionics systems.• Inventory and Asset Management: Supervise the management of avionics spare parts, tools, and test equipment to ensure availability and readiness.• Budgeting and Financial Planning: Prepare, track, and manage budgets for avionics-related projects and ensure cost-effective solutions.• Reporting and Documentation: Provide detailed reports on avionics system performance, operational challenges, and future upgrade needs to senior SLAF command.• Compliance with Regulations: Ensure all avionics systems meet safety and airworthiness standards as per SLAF and international aviation regulations.• Advisory Role: Serve as a technical advisor to senior SLAF commanders on avionics systems and provide recommendations for improvements and advancements.

In my role as a Communication, IT & Avionics Engineering Officer within the Sri Lanka Air Force Aviation Contingent assigned to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Central Africa (MINUSCA), I have been serving as the Electronics, Telecommunication, Ground Radio, Avionics, and IT Engineer since December 3, 2022. My primary responsibility entails ensuring the operational integrity of a diverse range of equipment essential to mission success. This includes Electronics, Telecommunication, Ground Radio, Audio-Visual, CCTV, and IT infrastructure, all meticulously maintained to meet regulatory standards. Additionally, I am tasked with upholding the 100% serviceability of avionics equipment installed within the Mi 17 Helicopter fleet, thus contributing to the overall effectiveness of our mission.

I have held the responsibility of Production Planning Manager for all engineering work in the commercially operated fleet since 2020. I was solely responsible to maintaining the serviceability of the fleet continuously through perfect planning; executing and controlling.

I have been conducting lectures at IS 147 Approved Helitours Technical Training College as a visiting lecture.

Before I joined in to United Nations Peace Keeping Mission, I worked at No 4 VIP/VVIP Helicopter Squadron and No 6 Helicopter Squadron (61 Flight) as the officer commanding avionics where I was responsible for performing all engineering maintenance related avionics activities on three types of aircraft. Namely, Bell 412, Bell 212, and Mi-17. While performing my job to its optimum accuracy and safety, I gained hands on experience on all types. Apart from that I was responsible for Maintaining 100% serviceability of ground radio equipment that are used in VIP/VVIP flights, intercom system, audio-visual equipment and CCTV system and their maintenance
